This is also why they are a uniquely anxious generation, paralyzed by an inability to choose. They are confronted with too many options, unstuck in time.”

i’d argue we are strapped into time. like a carnival ride you begrudgingly ride, only to remember you hate carnival rides, you didn’t actually agree to get on, or see an operator, or remember the experience of being online. but now you’re buckled in and it’s going—up, around, back and forth, upside down—with brief respites of motion weighed down by suspense. it’s hard to make sense of it all in the downtime.
